MIAMI – In a bombshell announcement, executives from Showtime and the Miami Marlins have confirmed that the entire Miami Marlins 2012 season was a hoax.
“We had a ballpark ready, but we didn’t have a team to put into it,” said Miami Marlins President David Samson. “For some reason, we only had five players signed to 2012 contracts, and we had a lucrative deal from Showtime to showcase our franchise in their groundbreaking series. So, we conspired with Showtime and others in the entertainment and baseball business and put together a charade of a season that would fulfill out contractual obligations with Major League Baseball and Showtime.”
